Faith and Politics and do they belong together?

This latest election showed a tremendous lean towards the Democratic Party. This doesn’t necessarily mean that more Christians voted for Democrats than Republicans. It does mean, however, that Christians are pulling back from their so called “Conservative” identity, especially with the current president. So, I am observing that Christians are stepping away from the politics, at least for now.
This is a good move. The instance politics are heavily backed by Biblical support, things get messy and confusing - fast! You see, a man (president Bush) doesn’t speak for Jesus. He doesn’t speak for the millions of conservatives who voted for him, either. By people putting their trust in another person, the outcome will usually be failure. Voters shouldn’t vote for a person because of their “evangelical” promises. Yet, this is what happened with president Bush.
Now, the conservative party is scrambling to re-align their voters with their values, or values with their voters. Who knows, really. The main point that I observe is that voters should never vote for someone because of their faith-based promises. Nor, ever for the fact that they are Christian. Read a good article, here.
