His artwork seems highly influenced by Pablo Picasso, if not taken his style. This artist is living outside of his homeland and appears to be continuing his work. While outside of India he may not be able to directly influence it, but he can continue with his radical thinking (according to India) to push his artistic point. Not sure where the beef is. Revolution does not usually happen without the spilling of blood, and his artistic point is not progressing western art. This style has been played with for a number of generations & brings little to the artist community.
This latest election showed a tremendous voting lean towards the Democratic Party. This doesn’t necessarily mean that more Christians voted for Democrats than Republicans. It does mean, however, that Christians are pulling back from their so called “Conservative” identity, especially with the current president. So, I observe that Christians are stepping away from the politics, at least for now.
This is a good move. The instance politics is heavily backed by Biblical support, things get messy and confusing - fast! You see, a man (president Bush) doesn’t speak for Jesus. He doesn’t speak for the millions of conservatives who voted for him, either. By people putting their trust in another person, the outcome will usually be failure. Voters shouldn’t vote for a person because of their “evangelical” promises. Yet, this is what happened with president Bush.
Now, the conservative party is scrambling to re-align their voters with their values, or values with their voters -who knows, really. The main point that I observe is that voters should never vote for someone because of their faith-based promises. Nor, ever for the fact that they are Christian. To see more of this perspective, read an article, here.
As I sit here, the kids are sleeping. A quiet moment during the day. Soon, I will join them and take a nap. First, however, I reflect on the many people who have served our country, to provide freedoms for everyone. Our freedoms are not automatic. There are people who want to take these freedoms away.
I am reminded of Paul’s letter to Timothy where he said in 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith” Only can our country continue to live in freedom if we stand up and fight for our freedoms we all hold so dearly. We will only preserve freedoms if we obliterate the evil that wishes to wipe us from the earth.
Here is a quote from a great leader:
One ought never to turn one’s back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half.”
We are slowly reducing the danger treading upon our freedoms. Please, reach out a hand to a Veteran today. Thank them for their service. We Veterans are in a class all by ourselves and we would fight again for your freedoms if we had to. Here is a tribute to Veterans
Are there water shortages in California? There aren’t really in Maryland, but, water conservation is still a good rule to follow wherever anyone lives. So, here is the gist: “The scientists have developed a simple ‘air shower’ device which, when fitted into existing showerheads, fills the water droplets with a tiny bubble of air. The result is the shower feels just as wet and just as strong as before, but now uses much less water.” You can read more about it here.
The morning was quiet and calm as I walked to the closest voting place. Races are tight and close this year. Each button I pushed, I thought, would my one vote make a difference? Well, it does. Here are some examples: In 1845, one vote brought Texas into the Union. In 1868, one vote saved President Andrew Johnson from conviction after being impeached. In 1876, one vote in the electoral college gave Rutherford D. Hayes the Presidency of the United States. In 1948, one vote gave Harry Truman the presidency: He carried California by less than one vote per precinct. In 1960, one vote per precinct in Illionois would have given Richard Nixon the presidency over John F. Kennedy. Some dated examples, yes, but voting hasn’t changed much since then.
So, if you think your vote doesn’t make a difference, think again. If you are not convinced, read more, here.
One vote turns into 100 and then 1000 and then 1,000,000. But, for those numbers to add up, each person must vote. The races are close. This is why I voted this morning - to perhaps, be the one vote which tips the issue in the “right” direction.
This is totally insane and insulting. I’ve never heard of this guy, but as a martial artist I think he’s a crackpot. This is unfortunate because I believe in the paradigm of chi.
Two things I find most insulting are:
Chi is Chinese, yet his martial art of study is Karate (Japanese). The Japanese use Ki (pronounces Key) though I’m not familiar with its use.
Chi is not like a “microwave”, it is a philosophy/paradigm of looking at martial arts for purposes of study.
Too worked up to write more. I must think on it.
